One man is in London hospital with stab wounds after a late night fight in Petrolia.
Lambton OPP are releasing little information about the Sunday night incident at an apartment at 4168 Robert Street.
Derek Rogers, media relations officer for the OPP in the West Region confirmed “There was an assault on a male at that address and that a 21 year-old female suspect has been arrested.
“The victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital in Sarnia and then transferred to London,” he said in an email.
A witness, who asked not to be named, tell The Independent he heard an argument before police arrived at 10:45 pm. He added the man had been stabbed.
The witness says the man had been locked out of the apartment for some time and was yelling at the woman to let him in.
The woman arrested rented the unit.
The witness added it was not the first time he heard fighting in the apartment.
OPP officers wearing gloves to protect the scene of the crime could be seen talking to witnesses in the area after the man had been taken away by ambulance.
Detectives also returned Monday to question people in the building further. Tuesday, only a shred of police tape indicated the incident had even taken place.
So far, OPP have not released the name of the victim nor the woman who was arrested. The 21 year-old London woman is charged with aggravated assault.
