Another workplace COVID-19 outbreak in Lambton

Lambton Public Health is reporting another workplace outbreak.

In a news release Saturday, officials say three people have tested positive in one workplace. Public health doesn’t release the name of the workplace unless it will help with its investigation.

There are nine outbreaks in Lambton right now. The largest is at Vision Rest Home where all but one resident of the home tested positive. Thirty-two residents and 14 staff contracted the virus by Friday. Public health doesn’t update outbreak case numbers on the weekend.

There are five long term care homes in outbreak; six people have passed away in January in long term care in Lambton.

The outbreak at Bluewater Health’s general medicine unit continues with three patients and six staff members testing positive.

There were ten more people test positive for COVID-19 in Lambton according to public health statistics. There are 90 people who are ill right now, down 17. Another 27 people have been cleared by public health.

Ontario is reporting 2,063 cases of COVID-19 and 73 more deaths. Nearly 59,600 tests completed.
