Three more COVID-19 deaths in Lambton – two in long term care

Two of the three people who died with COVID-19 in Lambton Wednesday lived in long term care homes.
Lambton Public Health released its daily statistics this morning and while the number of new cases has dropped dramatically in the last two weeks, three people passed away with the virus yesterday.
Public health statistics show both Village on the St. Clair and Vision Rest Home had residents pass away Wednesday after contracting the virus.
Vision Rest Home also reported two more cases of COVID-19 in staff members. In all 32 residents – all but one person who lives in the rest home – and 16 staff tested positive with COVID-19. Three have died there.
There were four new cases of COVID-19 in Lambton reported today. Fifty-five are actively ill and another seven people have recovered.
There are now six outbreaks, including four in long term care homes, one at Bluewater Health and one workplace outbreak.
Ontario is reporting 88 more deaths due to COVID-19 and 1,563 cases of COVID-19 today and nearly 64,500 tests completed.
Thirty six of the deaths were in long term care homes where 3,683 people have died since March.
