OWS expanding Sarnia rail maintenance site

Petrolia-based OWS Rail Car is expanding.

The company which provides rail car repairs and maintenance is upgrading its Clifford St. location in Sarnia.

In a news release, Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey says the company has received $360,000 from the province’s Regional Development program to help with a $2.4 million project. It will help the company expand into new services including locomotive repairs and maintenance, modify its facilities and purchase new equipment and machinery. The expansion is expected to create 11 new jobs.

“It’s great to see OWS Rail Car Inc. invest in new technology and grow their market share while creating jobs and boosting the economy of Sarnia-Lambton,” says Bailey in the news release. 

The provincial investment comes from the Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Competitiveness fund for investment in technology and a skilled workforce.

Waits at the first day of advanced voting
