Impaired charges laid in afternoon crash near Port Franks
Two Lambton ambulances now at work in Nicaragua
July 22, 2022
Two Lambton County ambulances are now working the streets of Nicaragua.
The county donated the used vehicles to Global Medic which brought them to the capital city of Managua.
Nicaragua is a country of 6.6 million people, where many communities rely on volunteers to run their emergency services. While these volunteers are highly trained in rapid response, purchasing equipment is difficult, if not impossible. Their emergency departments lack the critical funding to match the need. This is where GlobalMedic stepped in to help.
On May 26, both ambulances landed in Managua, Nicaragua to be sent to their final destination. The ambulances were both put to immediate work, aiding in emergency response throughout the communities.
