LCCVI’s Landon swims to silver at OFSAA

February 28, 2023

Darius Landon is a silver medalist in swimming.

The LCCVI student was less than a blink of an eye away from a gold medal at the Ontario high school swimming championships in Leamington Tuesday.

The 15 year-old lost the 15 and over 50 metre freestyle final by eight-100’s of a second to James Chen of Richmond Hill’s Our Lady Queen of the World Catholic Academy.  The winning time was 25.30 seconds.  Landon touched the wall in 25.38.  In fact, the top five finishes in the hotly contested race were all within just over a half second of each other.

Landon won three individual events at both the Lambton Kent high school swimming championships in Sarnia and the SWOSSA championship in Windsor.
