Plympton-Wyoming’s former CAO has found a new job.
North Middlesex – a community which includes Parkhill – has hired Carolyn Tripp to be its next chief administrative officer.
Tripp was on a leave of absence from the Town of Plympton-Wyoming since mid-February at the same time as the then fire chief, Darryl Thompson. Mayor Gary Atkinson said she was on a medical leave. By May 18, staff had been told the pair were no longer employed by the town. Several days later, when the municipality wished Thompson well in his future endeavors, there was no mention of Tripp.
Today, North Middlesex issued a news release saying Tripp would be the next CAO adding the hiring “followed council’s extensive recruitment and selection process that commenced in January of 2023. The process followed was fair, based on merit and included a comprehensive assessment of the skills, experience, knowledge and qualifications of candidates. Council concluded that Carolyn is the best qualified to have an immediate impact on the municipality and its community.”
Mayor Brian Ropp added in the same release “Her leadership style and range of municipal experience will be a much needed and welcome addition to the municipality.”
Tripp had been employed in Plympton-Wyoming since 2016 after leaving Midland in what she described as a conflict with the council of Midland.
