Taking inspiration from the little free libraries that are situated throughout Lambton County, Liana Russwurm thought instead of books, the idea could apply to art. That is how a Free Little Art Gallery was born.

Russwurm held an unveiling on Sunday in front of her home and art studio in Alvinston, a former Anglican Church.

The Free Little Art Gallery is available for anyone wanting to share their art. The rule is if you take a piece of art from the Free Little Art Gallery, you must replace it with another.

A short while after the art gallery opened, one piece of art had already been taken and replaced with four works of art in its place.

Russwurm teaches art classes with many of her students being between the ages of seven and 15. Some of her students’ creations are also a part of the tiny art gallery.
