Jaques becomes Petrolia Flyers all-time leading scorer

Andrew Jaques is now the leading goal scorer in the history of the Petrolia Flyers. 

He notched his 61st career tally in an 8-3 PJHL win at Aylmer Saturday to surpass the previous mark held by Curtis Helps who scored 60 from 2016-2020.

Jaques is now within four goals of the top five all-time scorers in Flyer history dating back to when the team played in Alvinston. Kole Keating is number five on the list with 65 goals.

Joey Hayter, Parker Davidson and Lucas Rogers all had three points in the win over the Spits.

Hayter scored twice and added an assist, Davidson had a goal and two helpers and Rogers contributed three assists.

Miller Mailloux, Isaac Truman, Cameron Davidson and Phoenix Timmington also scored for the Flyers who have now won five straight games.

Theron Morningstar stopped 30 of 33 shots directed his way for the win in the Petrolia crease.

Meantime, Morningstar made 25 saves as the Flyers beat Port Stanley, 4-2 Nov. 27 at Greenwood.

Mailloux keyed a three-goal third period with the game-winning goal coming midway through the frame. 

The Flyers, now 13-6-1 on the season, host Mt. Brydges Thursday night at 7:30 before taking on the Sailors in Port Stanley on Saturday night.
