The Independent
Sarnia Police have arrested three men during a home invasion in the city.
Police received a 9-1-1 call Sunday morning at 12:45 am. Dispatchers could hear a woman in the background telling someone they had nothing in the house.
Police tracked the call to Davis Street and officers went door-to-door to find the incident. When they found the right home, they went inside. A man and woman directed police to a rear bedroom where the officers said they were in the home. Three people came out of the back bedroom and were arrested without incident.
Police found the suspects entered the residence after following one of the residents into the home. The suspects were wearing ski masks and gloves and demanded cash and valuables and threatened the couple with firearms.
Police say the men ran to the back room after figuring out police were near by and attempted to escape through a back window, removing their masks, gloves, and discarding their firearms which police found later were imitation.
Three men, two of no fixed address and the other from Sarnia, are being held in custody facing a number of charges including robbery, break and enter, wearing a disguise with intent and carrying a concealed weapon.
The homeowners were not injured.
