The Independent LCCVI lost a heartbreaker in the Sr.Boys’ basketball final. The Lancers lost to John McGregor 63-60 Friday in Chatham. Brandon Lester had 18 points in LCCVI’s loss and Jamison Helps had 16.

The Independent John McGregor is the Jr Boys basketball champions. The Panthers topped LCCVI 74-50 Friday in Chatham. Remi Gorry had 14 points and Joey Edgar had 12 for the Lancers in the AA final.

Lambton OPP have charged a 41 year-old from Walpole Island with fentanyl trafficking. The OPP, with several of its specialized units including  the Emergency Response Team, worked with Walpole Island First Nation police Jan. 30, executing a search warrant on Tecumseh Road.  Police seized fentanyl, cocaine, fire arms and cash valued at $19,000.  The 41-year-old faces 26 charges including trafficking
