Lambton Film Festival looking for teen filmmakers

May 13, 2021

Budding filmmakers – start your cameras.

The organizers of the Lambton Youth Short Film competition are accepting entries in the event.

. “2020 saw a record 38 films entered into the competition” said Scott Ferguson of the Forest Optimist Club and member of the Lambton Film and Food Festival (LaFFF) steering committee.

The training for students went virtual this year and Ferguson says it reached a lot of people. “This year, the number of participating students increased dramatically to nearly 100 students from across the region”.

“There is great interest in the program and the students seemed to really enjoy the creative and technical process of making a film.”

Students can submit a three minute movie in five categories – Comedy, Documentary, Franco Fier, Mino Bimaaddiziwin, and Animation- for a chance to win some of the $2,000 prize money.

They have to be submitted by May 25.

The group hopes to premier the videos in the newly renovated Kineto Theatre in the fall.
