An early morning drive with some beer in Enniskillen Township has netted a 19 year-old woman with a drunk driving conviction

The court heard that on Aug. 1, at about 3 a.m., a pick-up truck was seen by police crossing Old Heritage Road. Police followed the truck for about half a kilometre and watched as it crossed the center line twice and hit the shoulder twice. Once the truck was stopped, police observed an open beer can in the truck. OPP tested the driver who had a blood alcohol level of 140 – well over the 80 limit.

Victoria Smith pled guilty to the charge in Sarnia court Jan. 21. She was fined $1,500 and lost her license for a year.

“I have learned my lesson and I never want to be in this situation again,” said Smith, before the sentence was given.
