LCCVI Girls Hockey team heading to the provincial championship

The LCCVI Lancers are SWOSSA girls hockey champions and they’re heading to the provincial championships.

They defeated L’Essor 4-1 to take the title Tuesday afternoon.

Ella Jackson and Toni Gunton both had a goal and an assist to lead the Lancers.
Lizzie Swain started off the scoring with Gunton assisting. Dayna Robbins netted the second with a helper from Jackson. Gunton stormed the net for the third and Alex Salaris and Gracie Harse had the assists. Jackson rounded out the scoring with an assist from Tessa Jackson and Dayna Robbins.

Riane McEachern was in net for the win.

The Lancers advanced to the SWOSSA final after a decisive win in the Lambton-Kent final. Swain scored twice to lead LCCVI to a 5-1 win over North Lambton.

The Lancers now gear up for OFSSA. It’s in Stratford March 21 to 23.
