Isaac Truman extended his point streak to 14 games with two goals and two assists to lead the Petrolia Flyers to a 5-3 win over Thamesford in PJHL action Friday.  Noel Sanderson, Tobias Iantorno and Lucas Rogers also scored for the Flyers. Ty Moffatt had two assists.

Petrolia had a 4-0 advantage early in the final frame before the Trojans struck for three unanswered goals to cut the gap to 4-3. Rogers scored in an empty net in the final minute of regulation time to seal the deal.

Theron Morningstar made 43 saves in the Petrolia crease as the Flyers outshot Thamesford, 61-46.

Meantime, the Flyers erased a 4-1 deficit for an 8-5 home ice win over the Mt. Brydges Bulldogs Nov. 20 at Greenwood.

The Flyers scored five times in the third period for the victory.

Iantorno and Parker Davidson each had a pair of goals and three assists for the winners. Jace McGrail also scored twice, including the game-winning goal on the power play with just over eight minutes remaining.

Andrew Jaques and Ethan Flintoff also scored for Petrolia. The goal by Jaques ties him for the franchise lead with Curtis Helps with 60 since the team relocated from Alvinston a decade ago. Moffatt, Truman and Rogers all had two assists for the Flyers.

Morningstar made 42 stops as the Bulldogs outshot Petrolia, 47-41.

Sarnia’s JJ Fogarty scored twice for Mt. Brydges. He has 13 goals in 13 games this season for the Bulldogs.

On Tuesday, the Flyers got another comeback victory, taking down the Port Stanley Sailors 5-3.

Petrolia scored four third period goals to get the win.

Port Stanley took a 2-0 lead before Flintoff scored in the final minutes of the second period to make it a one-goal game heading into the final frame.

Davidson potted the equalizer early in the third but Port Stanley responded five seconds later to retake the lead.

Petrolia got three unanswered goals from Joey Hayter, Davidson, and Iantorno to seal their third consecutive win.

Morningstar made 26 saves to improve to 6-1 with the Flyers.

Petrolia is now 11-6-1 and within three points of the Yeck Division lead in the tightly bunched standings.

Petrolia entertains the Sailors at Greenwood on Thursday.  Puck drop is 7:30.  The Flyers end a busy week with a game at Aylmer on Saturday.
