Public health looking for owners of Bernese Mountain dogs in dog bite on Howard Watson Trail

Lambton Public Health is seeking information about the location of two dogs and their three owners following a dog bite incident that occurred around 9:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 9, 2026, on the Howard Watson Trail, close to Huron Baptist Church.
The dogs are described as black, brown, and white Bernese Mountain dogs with leashes, and were being walked by a man and two women.
If you have any information related to the location of the dogs and their owners, please contact Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 ext. 3812 or toll-free 1-800-667-1839. If the dogs are not located and the health status of the animals verified, the victim will need to receive post exposure rabies shots.
