Vaccine call centre closes today

March 17, 2022

After over 43,000 calls, Lambton’s Vaccine Call Centre is closing today.

It was opened in May 2021 as the mass vaccination clinics ramped up to help people having difficulty with the online system to book appointments to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

At it’s peak in June, the call centre was taking over 500 calls per day with June 15, 2021 being the busiest day ever with over 600 calls.

With 80 per cent of people over five years old vaccinated in the county, the demand for vaccine has decreased as has the need for the call centre.

Officials say you can still book a vaccine by phone by calling Lambton Public Health’s main line at 519-383-8331, toll-free at 1-800-667-1839
